Lars Ulrich commented on the band’s relationship with the continuity of the shows – and if the members of Metallica think about retiring
With just over 40 years of existence, metallica remains one of the main names in rock today – and fans want the project with Robert Trujillo (low), James Hetfield (vocal), Lars Ulrich (battery) and Kirk Hammett (guitar) never ends. Now, Ulrich commented on how long the group will last.
This topic came up during an interview with Revolver, published last Wednesday, 5, and the drummer was asked about the band’s future on tour. “It’s not something we talk about a lot, no. I think most of the energy and resources go into trying to keep it healthy, cohesive, functioning,” he said.
As I get older, I spend more and more time on my daily workouts, on my cardio, on my strength training,” continued the musician. “I’m chained to my Peloton for hours a day. It’s all about trying to stay healthy: eat healthy, live healthy, whatever it is that each of us needs to bring to the table.”
Obviously, there’s a point where maybe it doesn’t work anymore on some level, where we can’t touch’Battery,’ ‘Master of Puppets‘ or songs like that. I know there are some people in the comments section who think that point has already been reached – and I appreciate that. [Risos] But the only thing I can say is that it hasn’t happened yet, knock on wood. I hope it doesn’t happen for a while.
Furthermore, Lars Ulrich talked about rock icons like Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones It is Bruce Springsteenespecially about their relationship with the pace of concerts: “Springsteen does three hour shows and only played 28 songs on opening night. He looks healthier and stronger than ever. But I appreciate what you’re saying. None of them are ringing’Battery.'”
I would say if we stay healthy we hope to have another decade. I mean, as soon as I’m done with you, I’m going into the squad.
