“Life is Like a Song” will be released in June and will feature duets with Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie
AP – Unreleased songs recorded by late country star Kenny Rogers will be on a new album due out in June.
After a career spanning jazz to rock, country to pop, the Grammy-winning dancer nicknamed “The Gambler” died at the age of 81 in 2020. His widow, Wanda Rogersedited the posthumous album called Life is like a songout on June 2nd.
The recordings were made between 2008 and 2011 and include originals and similar covers Wonderful tonight In Eric Clapton AND In the end, Famous for Etta Jamess, which will be on a deluxe version of the disc. The album will also include two previously released songs, her duet with Dolly Parton, Tell me that you love me AND Until we meet againwritten by Lionel Richieboth released in 2009, but never digitally.
The Country Music Hall of Fame inductee has had a thriving career spanning nearly 60 years with hits like Lucilla, ma’am AND islands in the currenta beloved Parton-Rogers duet.
“He said he wanted his songs to be ‘what every man wants to say and every woman wants to hear,'” Wanda Rogers said in a press release. “I think there are a lot of those moments on this record. This is a very special record for me and our family because it really tells the story of our life together, and I feel like his fans will understand that in a big way too because he drives the ‘listener through the seasons of life we all experience, in one form or another.”
