Festival with the face of São Paulo
Medina wants to bring the concept of “brand party” to São Paulo. That is, rather than betting on the cast of artists, he hopes to attract people thanks to the credibility of the idea. Ticket sales starting today should become a good thermometer for this. While not having São Paulo in its name, the Interlagos festival brings something that Rock in Rio doesn’t have: the presence of the spirit of São Paulo on the stages. The architecture will be strongly inspired by the places and cultures of the city. The investment for the event is R$ 240 million.
City stages
horizon
The main stage, the largest of all, inspired by the classic buildings of the city. It’s where the biggest attractions and every-night apotheotic closures will go.
The only one
A bit of urban spirit from São Paulo. It will perform the function that is Sunset, at Rock in Rio. In other words, it will host concerts designed for the event and will encourage meetings between attractions.
New dance order
A space dedicated to tracks and electronic music. The other parties have already consecrated these tents, but Medina wants to go further.
St Paul’s Square
Undoubtedly the most original of thematic spaces. The production, thankfully, recalled the city’s tradition of bringing out country jazz and instrumental musicians and bands. Many of them will be present in this space. Those already confirmed are: Hermeto Pascoal, Paula Lima, Jonathan Ferr, AnnaLu, Hamilton de Holanda, Vanessa Moreno, Ana Cañas, Banda Mantiqueira, Mônica Salmaso and São Paulo Big Band, in addition to the already confirmed headliners Esperanza Spalding, Stanley Jordan and Riccardo Bona
factory
Another space with a strong presence of urban culture will be reserved for street dance and trap, hip hop and rap performances. In Brazil, no other city is stronger in this segment than São Paulo.
The city: dates and address
