Music and Artificial Intelligence
The use of Artificial Intelligence to make unusual voices sing songs by other artists has become commonplace on social media. In April, a false band of drake It is The Weeknd has been removed from several streaming services.
“Heart On My Sleeve” was made using artificial intelligence to clone the singers’ voices and generated controversy.
According to BBC, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and Tidal no longer have the song in their catalogue. TikTok and YouTube are also expected to withdraw all available versions soon. Universal Music Group, which owned the two artists’ publishing rights, claimed that the composition infringed copyright laws.
“Heart On My Sleeve” uses the voices of drake It is The Weeknd to talk about Selena Gomezwith whom Abel Tesfaye had a relationship. There are verses mentioning the singer’s alleged betrayal before their breakup in 2017.
Until it was removed from Spotify, the track accumulated 629,439 plays. On TikTok, “Heart On My Sleeve” has been used 8.5 million times.
