Modern playlist for April updates the followers soundtrack with new sounds from the alternative music scene of 2023.
The starting point is the synthpop of new artists, who revive the sound and aesthetics of the bands of the 80s. The journey continues through representatives of darkwave, gothic rock and post-punk, before distorting with noise no wave, hip -hop rock and hardcore punk and enter variations of alternative rock, ending with shoegazers and a meeting with synthesizers in dreampop.
Among the highlights are two New York bands: synthpop trio Nation of Language and shoegazer duo Laveda. The list also marks the return of Portuguese gothic band She Pleasures Yourself and a veteran recording of the 90s American punk rock scene, Rancid.
As always, the videos are organized in order of sound affinity in a playlist – to view them on Smart TVs, look for Transmit in the Chrome settings tab or More Tools / Transmit etc in Edge – , with the aim of adapting a sequence that emphasizes the videotape/mixtape impression.
