Between 10:00 and 17:00, the body of the singer-songwriter will be buried in Ibirapuera Park, at the Planetarium
Rita Lee’s vigil begins this Wednesday 10, at 10, at the Planetarium, in Ibirapuera Park. The location was chosen by the singer-songwriter herself, who died on Monday evening, 8, in her home in São Paulo, after a battle against lung cancer discovered in 2021.
Rita was born and lived in São Paulo, almost always in the Vila Mariana neighborhood, and always went to Ibirapuera Park – always with her parents. She called the place the “enchanted forest”.
The singer’s body arrived at the Planetarium around 5am on this rainy Wednesday and some fans were already waiting in line to say goodbye to Rita Lee. Many garlands of flowers can also be seen at the place already.
The public will enter the main door of the Planetarium, go through its center, where the body of Rita Lee will be, and exit the back.
Rita Lee’s wake will be from 10am to 5pm. Afterwards, there will be a family-only cremation ceremony.
