Singer Baby do Brasil was one of the celebrities who attended Rita Lee’s wake, this Wednesday 10, at the planetarium, in Ibirapuera Park, in Sao Paulo. In an interview with the press, the artist said that he does not believe in death, but in resurrection, referring to the queen of national rock.

“The moment a person leaves the planet is when it confronts us with eternal life, confronts us with the message of Jesus. In fact, behold, he preaches the resurrection. It is not possible for us to be born, become children, become a teenager, become an adult, do whatever you have to do, buildings, nice things, then die for nothing. I don’t believe in death. She’s not dead. She’s already on her way to glory. Hallelujah! Let’s rise again,” Baby said from the Brazil.

Rita Lee died this Monday 8, after battling lung cancer diagnosed in 2021. She had been hospitalized in February due to the disease, but the family reassured fans and said treatment was planned.

Last year, Rita Lee Jones de Carvalho’s family celebrated the singer’s remission of lung cancer. “My mother’s recovery moved me beyond belief… Best news ever. She kept her head up, willing to fight and went through it all with her usual good humor, even nicknamed the tumor ‘Jair’. This is Rita,” wrote her son Beto Lee.

However, the disease returned earlier this year and forced Rita Lee to return to treatment.
