James Hetfield, lead singer of Metallica, went after the secrets of his favorite singer
James Hetfield never hid his admiration for Ronnie James Dio, one of the greatest vocalists in rock history. In an interview with Music Radar in 2016, the frontman of metallica he praised the musician and revealed that he tried to discover his secrets to sing so well.
After honoring the metallica The Ronnie James, Hetfield recalled: “We made a medley of different songs from God. I realized how awesome that guy was. And it drove me crazy, because when I found him, I asked, ‘What tape do you use for the warm-up. What do you do? What’s your secret to all this?’
The response surprised the vocalist: “He said: ‘Well, I drink a small glass of wine and sing.’ What?! I don’t think he was lying to me. He was just a natural singer with a powerful range. He continues to challenge me, which is great.”
