Johnny Hooker used social media to vent about difficulties in his music career

Singer Johnny Hooker used Twitter to vent about his career by talking about the low demand for his own songs and suggesting a career break this Saturday, 21. In his profile, hooker talked about the performance of the last single, “CUBA.”

“For an artist to exist and survive without support from anywhere, it needs to have organic demand, and the numbers for the 1st day of release of ‘CUBA’ make that clear. There is no more demand for my work. If ever there was a sketch of one ever. You need to know when to withdraw,” he wrote.

hooker He added: “It was not a completely lost battle, I managed to dribble the economic power several times. I have two platinum records and 250 million streams organic to prove it. The legacy remains too, art is forever. But we have to maintain dignity too.” Despite hinting that he would step away from music, the singer announced that he “still has a whole new record coming out in a few weeks.”

Some hours later, hooker returned to Twitter to explain about the previous publications, stating that “my outburst was not due to ingratitude with everything I’ve already achieved (which was a lot by the way), sometimes it’s just a request for help and a reminder that I still I’m here alive, making F*DA music…”

“Fighting unimaginable forces, having to prove a million times that I’m badass to get crumbs. I know most people understand. Anyway, get all my love back,” she finished. On Instagram, hooker also talked about the possibility of a farewell tour, when asked by a follower: “I don’t know, see. This isn’t the first time hooker talks about difficulties in a career in music. A few weeks ago, the singer made another outburst when he said that he had no money for rent: “I played five shows packed with people in April. It was barely enough to pay the bills for the month. Children, don’t make music,” he stated.

hooker also took the opportunity to publicize the video clip of “CUBA” and playing with the situation: “my people, am I the 1st posthumous artist in activity in the world? It’s that ‘I died but I’m fine’ vibe,” he wrote. In addition, in another situation, he took the opportunity to say that a career in music does not bear much fruit and “advised” young people to invest in social networks and participation in events: “Invest in TikTok and in appearing at events!
