Sting compared AI music composition to CGI movie watching
Responsible for hits like “Fields of Gold,” “Shape of My Heart” It is “englishman in new york,” Sting opined how we are about to witness a music composition “battle” between humans and Artificial intelligence (AI).
During an interview with BBCthe artist spoke about the increasing number of compositions made by AI – and how he believes this technology will never be able to replicate music written by human beings. “The building blocks of music belong to us human beings,” she said.
This will be a battle we will all have to fight in the coming years: defending our human capital against AI.
In addition, the singer explained how technology “doesn’t impress me at all,” and even compared it to “the way I watch a movie with CGI (computer graphics).” “I’m immediately bored when I see a computer-generated image,” he continued.
I imagine I’ll feel the same way about creating music with AI… maybe for electronic dance music it works. But for songs, you know, expressing emotions, I don’t think I’m going to get emotional about it.
