Dave Grohl holds back tears to sing “My Hero” in tribute to Taylor Hawkins

OR frontman Dave GrohlFrom foo fightersdid her best to hold back the tears when the first chords of my hero in honor of the late drummer Taylor Hawkins (1972-2022) at the band’s first concert with their new drummer, josh freese.

The rockers kicked off their tour at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion last Wednesday (24) where they welcomed freese and thanked him for “save the band” after the tragic loss of tailorwho was found dead in his hotel room Colombiain March 2022, before the group performed at Brazil. He had 50 years old.

“Could you please welcome the man behind the drums, Josh Freese, who helped save the band”he asked Dave Grohl to the crowd in the North American arena. “We wouldn’t be here tonight if it weren’t for Josh, so everybody give Josh a big round of applause please.”

josh was revealed as the new drummer of foo fighters during a live broadcast on the 21st of this month. The musician is known for his work in such big bands as Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails AND Paramore.

He was among several drummers he paid tribute to Taylor Hawkins in two special concerts that the foo fighters held at Los Angeles AND London in memory of its late member.
