In 2023, steve vai launched a project recorded more than 30 years ago in partnership with Johnny “Gash” Sombrotto. Go/Gash carries the sound of hard rock – a reflection of the motorcycle culture in which the guitarist found himself inserted.

The album, however, gained new contours after the death of gash in a motorcycle accident, and Steve couldn’t finish it: “I was destroyed and put the project in the drawer for 30 years. When I heard it, I always remembered it and that time, the feeling of freedom. I thought I should release it, but first I wanted to fix some vocals, mix it… “

“Last year, I decided to release it exactly the way it was. I was very surprised by the good response from the fans and the press. It’s a comfortable record, pure rock and roll, different for me,” he completed in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil.

Go is one of the attractions of Best of Blues and Rock, a festival that takes place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June, at Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo. The most recent release, however, should not be present in the setlist, as the voice plays an important role in the construction of the disc. inviolate (2022) will be the main highlight of the show.
