Written and recorded in four years, Life is but a dream was inspired by the philosophy of Albert Camus. Thus, the lyrics are rooted in existentialism and the absurd.
Between the light acoustic picks that open Game Over and the dramatic piano sounds of the closing title track, avenged sevenfold it writhes, turns and writhes through varying measures.
