An important name in Brazilian music, Astrud Gilberto interprets the English version of ‘The Girl from Ipanema’
Known as the global voice of Bossa nova and interpreter of the English version of “Girl from Ipanema,” Astrud Gilberto died last Monday night, the 5th, with her granddaughter, Sofia Gilberto, confirming the news. Since then, several people have started to manifest themselves, as well as celebrities.
In a publication made on Twitter, the musician Luiz Thunderbird lamented: “I just found out about the Astrud Gilberto. I have the disk (I inherited it from my father) with her, Joao Gilberto It is Stan Getz. This video is of absurd finesse. Thanks for the elegance, Astrud.”
