Guardianship prevented Britney Spears from even dancing in ballads

Between 2008 and 2021, Britney Spears was under the guardianship of his father, Jamie. He was responsible for controlling all of the singer’s assets, which were kept under very strict rules. In opposition to this, the artist even put her own career on hiatus.

With the judicial decision that put an end to the regime, information about how things worked in the aforementioned period has been disclosed, albeit in homeopathic doses, by Britney herself. In a post already removed from Instagram (via American Songwriter), the voice of “Toxic” and several other hits told that it was controlled even in one specific aspect: nightlife.

The post consisted of a video in which Spears dances alongside a friend at a nightclub in Las Vegas, in the United States. In the caption, the artist elaborated on the restrictions to which she was subjected.

“I saw this video today and I cried like a baby! I think it was my second year working in Vegas [na temporada de shows como residente]! Of course, I was never allowed to drink with my crew, so I never really went out. People won’t believe me, but in 4 years I’ve been out 3 times. This occasion, on New Year’s Eve one year and the party of the last show!”

In the aftermath, Britney complained about how her whole life was based on working. His artistic career began in childhood, with appearances on TV shows. She signed a record deal at age 15 and released her first album, …Baby One More Time (1999), at 18.

“Obviously, all I’ve known in life is work. The only thing I remembered from my first tours before the conservatorship was how sexy and sassy I felt and danced the night away in every city! Dive naked in the oceans with my dancers! And my best friend embarrassing us by peeing on a plant by the elevator because she couldn’t hold it. The shows were the best because we were so deep in our bodies and we felt it in every drop of sweat coming out of our pores.”

No fun for Britney

Still in the post, Britney Spears said that she was jealous of the dancers on her team during the season of shows in Las Vegas, held between 2013 and 2017. It was visible that everyone was having fun, except her.

“I’ve always been jealous because my dancer Mikey, who was my best dancer… I always knew when he went out to party the night before because he was so electrifying on stage. Please come party with me now, Mikey! I miss them so much! And even though there haven’t been any crazy drunken nights for 13 years, I still have the nicest memories of the period before that.”
