Politician used Kylie Minogue hit to celebrate Pride in official British Chamber speech
“Padam Padam”in Kylie Minogue, became political discourse in the United Kingdom. The Australian singer’s hit was mentioned by Lloyd Russell-Moyle at House of Commons (the House of Commons, a kind of Chamber of Deputies) of the country, in celebration of Pride Month.
“[O mês do] Pride is a time to remember where we came from and make sure love overcomes hate. So happy Pride month. May our hearts overcome hatred. And finally, honorable speaker, in the words of Kylie…. ‘Padam Padam’.”

The excerpt was shared by the politician on his social networks last Thursday (15) and went viral, especially among Kylie Minogue fans. “My heart is definitely Padam Padam for you,” one user tweeted. “You are a legend,” commented another.

With “Padam Padam”, Kylie Minogue is experiencing what has to be her biggest hit in at least a decade. Released on March 18th, the track reached first place in the ranking of billboard into the dance/electronic genre last week (June 3rd), reaching their first real top 10 in the UK since 2014.
Voltage, Kylie Minogue’s next album, will feature 11 tracks and is described as “a mix of personal reflection, club abandonment and melancholic euphoria”. He is the successor of Discocelebrated album released during the pandemic, and should officially come out in September 2023.
