The day before the incident, the singer shared a post on his YouTube channel stating that it would be the last time he communicated with fans. He further added that all the money transferred to him in the last two years would be returned and that he wanted to atone for past sins.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone who suffered from my stupid mistake,” Sung-bong wrote.
The money in question is an amount received in 2021 when Choi Sung-bong lied to fans that he had cancer. Later, he said he wasn’t sick.
According to the South Korean vehicle, the suspect is a suicide, but the results of the autopsy have not yet been disclosed.
Choi Sung-bong rose to fame when he finished second in the talent show Korea has talent, de 2011. At the time, he even received praise from Justin Bieber. On YouTube, the audition video for the show has amassed over 21 million views.
