Taylor Swift: Changers flee queue as police and Procon arrive in SP; 2 are arrested

One of them admitted that he would receive R$ 200 to be able to buy it and pass it on to someone. But on the last day of the sale, the weather in the queue was much milder than before.

The lower presence of money changers, with the arrest of two people by the Civil Police, was the atmosphere of the last day in line to buy tickets for the Taylor Swift concert in São Paulo. The general sale for the extra dates of the The Tour of the Ages started this Thursday the 22nd at 10:00.

The feat came as a result of protests by fans and police and action by Procon at the ticket office in the previous days.

According to the head of the Civil Police, Paulo Alberto, the two suspects were identified in the queue without being able to demonstrate ownership of the card or the destination of the ticket. “One of them admitted that he would receive R $ 200 to be able to buy it and pass it on to someone,” says the agent.

Since the night of this Wednesday 21, the climate was calm among those who camped waiting for the opportunity to buy a ticket. Some who have taken turns or spent the night in line at the Allianz Parque since the start of the week have praised the organisation’s new scheme.

clandestine labor trade

Reports of buying vacancies have also decreased. On other days, the topic was almost taboo. And on this Thursday, people became suspicious when the subject was brought up. Most denied seeing this type of commerce online, but suspicions existed.

The culture of sharing places and relays is based on the relationships between fans and on the often long-standing friendships that are established between them. The biologist, Beatriz Nunes, only came from Campinas to try her luck. And she says she witnessed a questionable exchange, to say the least.

According to her, a girl arrived to take a seat in a tent, but she didn’t seem to know anyone who was already there. Hence the mistrust. “I think she bought her place. The topic, the conversations in the tent, were from someone who didn’t know each other. I didn’t hear any trading values, but it felt like buying seats,” Beatriz says.

From the same group as Beatriz, the biomedical doctor, Jéssica Mayumi Yuzawa, believes that the new procedures adopted for passwords have curbed the behavior of the money changers. And you say you believe there has been a destabilization of the criminals’ methods.

“We found that during the night before the weekend presale, the changers themselves disagreed and had some disagreements with how many people they were putting in the holes of their tents. The house of cards fell,” says Jessica.

anti-crime playlists

The police do not openly reveal what kind of strategy they use to disrupt the action of the queued money changers. The most direct tactics shared with the press are cardholder and ticket destination conferences, but that’s not all.

A curious technique for identifying fans may have been observed by a young man in line. The TH student, as he prefers to be called, says he saw a PC agent ask to see Taylor Swift songs on a suspect’s cell phone.

“The cop called the person in the corner and wanted proof that he was a fan. He asked to show the playlist, sing a song, or do both. The playlist contained nothing. The person started curling up and the police told him to get him out because he was suspected of being a money changer,” says the student.

Delegate Paulo Alberto says that in approaches, agents try to identify if people’s stories are real. “Whoever is here with the aim of buying on behalf of third parties, in the middle of the story, stumbling blocks, incongruous phrases can already be seen, and it portends that this ticket will be sold with super agility,” he says.
