Hyldon celebrates 50 years of ‘Na Rua, Na Chuva, Na Fazenda’ with new clip

Legendary composer and singer Hyldon just released a unedited clip to celebrate the 50 years old of the classic On the street, in the rain, on the farm (Casinha de Sapê). The audiovisual record, already available on Youtubemarks the artist’s meeting with Percussion School of Tijuaçuwhere he was invited to hold a music workshop in the region of Lord of Bonfiminland from Bahia, approx 360km from El Salvador.

In that place, Hyldon spent a good part of his childhood and has great memories – among them, “swell”a common tree in the region, which is a cousin of African baobabs. Just like their relatives on the other continent, the bellies serve as a meeting place, for conversation and music. The community relates around the trees.

Combining the two universes, classic (and pioneering) Brazilian soul music with drums, wasn’t that difficult: “I found it fantastic to go back to the place where I lived until I was six and see that the children love music, they live in a quilombola territory full of stories. I think everything is connected and it was perfect to celebrate 50 th anniversary of my first recording”affirmations Hyldon.

“All this with the blessing of two secular trees: the bellies”complete the composer.
