The 77-year-old singer says she has no plans to retire
Some dream of retirement, while others, like the singer Dolly Parton, I don’t intend to do it soon. With a career spanning nearly six decades in the music industry, the 77-year-old said she will never retire.
In a recent interview with Greatest Radio Hitsthe star revealed that she’d rather “die” on stage than abandon the mic altogether. “I would never retire. I hope to die in the middle of a song on stage one day – and I hope I’ve written it – but that’s how I hope to go.” declared.
I don’t have much choice in this, but in the meantime, I’ll be making hay while the sun is shining.”
Despite not being seen far from the stage, the country music star admitted that she’s been cutting back on her work schedule somewhat. “I’m no longer touring, but will continue to do special shows here and there from time to time, like long weekend or festival shows,” she said.
Dolly also revealed her desire to host more TV shows and star in more movies. “I want to have my own story called ‘The Life of Many Colors’ where I have a whole TV series of my life”, explained.
Things people haven’t seen or heard about me and where I’m from and how I became who I am. The bad, the good and the ugly!”
Has continued: “So this is one thing that I want to do and then do more TV shows, do more movies. I want to have my own makeup line, my own wig line, and my own clothing line.”
Once you get to a certain point in your career, you get a lot of offers and some of them are really hard to turn down.”
With an extensive catalog of some 3,000 songs, Parton is considered one of the biggest names in world music history. She is a singer-songwriter, she has written iconic songs such as “Jolene” AND “I will Always Love You”.
