A Latin Academy of Recording Arts announced this Tuesday (18) that singer Simone will receive the Musical Excellence Award from 2023.
In addition to the Brazilian artist, other names will be honored with the honor. Are they: Carmen Linares, Mijares, Arturo Sandoval, Soda Stereo AND Anna Torroja.
Even the Latin Grammys reported it Alex Acuna, Gustavo Santaolalla AND Wison Torres will receive the Board of Directors Award.

Born Simone Bittencourt de Oliveirain Salvador (BA) in 1949, the singer released her first LP in 1973, followed by four walls in 1974 and Water drops a year later.
Presenting an ethereal reading of Proposalby Roberto Carlos, and a breathtaking performance by Worshiped, by Milton Nascimento, songs by both composers would continue to inspire Simone throughout her career. The singer has left a deep mark in Brazilian popular culture by recording the theme songs of many television soap operas and also through her powerful live performances.

The Musical Excellence Award is presented to artists who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic value to Latin music and its communities during their careers. The Board of Directors Award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to Latin music during their career, but not necessarily in the form of performances.
Both honors are voted for by the Latin Recording Academy’s board of directors.
