Margot Robbie had a very specific reason for not listening to the Beatles as a child; see what actress said
big star of Barbiea film that premieres in Brazilian theaters next Thursday, 20, Margot Robbie revealed how he refused to listen Beatles in youth – and for a very specific reason.
During an interview with Rolling Stone USA, Robbie commented on an interview made in January 2023, in which he revealed to be a fan of Slipknot and heavy metal bands, as well as having a “very emo” phase when she was younger.
“I feel like I need to fix the record a little bit,” he told Rolling Stone in a text published this Wednesday, the 19th (the interview was done before the actors’ strike in hollywood). “I had my death metal phase – and I still enjoy that – but I also like a lot of music.”
The artist remembered when she was five years old and was quite obsessed with the Beach Boys thanks to a tape her family had. The American rock band formed in 1961 was “all you heard.” In fact, she was so devoted to the group that she even refused to listen to the Beatles.
I watched a documentary about how Beach Boys would have been even more popular if the Beatles hadn’t come out and stolen the spotlight.
Far beyond rock, Margot Robbie I like other music genres a lot. She came to beg for Greta Gerwigdirector and co-writer of Barbieinclude “Barbiegirl,” hit do aqua that talks about the iconic doll of Mattel. The actress was also a big fan of Spice Girls when I was young.
“To the Spice Girls changed everything and dictated my version of second wave feminism. It’s like, ‘Oh my God, they wear little sparkly dresses and push-up bras, and then they have a girl gang? This is what I want to be!'”, said the artist.
As for the metal and emo phase of Robbie it happened in her teens, and it helped shape her eclectic taste. In fact, music greatly influenced her career as an actress, because she usually makes playlists for the characters she will play before filming.
I can anchor my character and myself to a certain period or feeling. Music is so useful for this.
