Geezer Butler fondly recalls a record Black Sabbath made when the band was established
legendary bass player black SabbathBritish heavy metal band formed in 1968, Geezer Butler participated in several of the group’s albums – and even today he fondly remembers which one was the most fun to record in the studio.
To promote autobiography Into the Void: From Birth to Black Sabbath and Beyondreleased on June 6, 2023, the musician gave an interview to loudwire and recalled the recordings of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973), the band’s fifth studio album.
“We had a more relaxed experience making it. With the first two records, the first album was done in two days,” he stated. “paranoid it was ready in five. So there was no time to relax, sit and listen to what we were doing. With Sabbath Bloody Sabbathwe did everything a lot slower.”
“It was a great time to be part of the Sabbath because we were established. We had some money in the bank and things were great,” continued Geezer Butler. “It was great. Everyone enjoyed being together. So yeah, that album brings back happy memories.”
