Renata became one of the greatest sopranos of the century for “her musicianship and her sense of style,” according to Opera Wire. She was born in 1952, she made her opera debut at the age of 18 at the Teatro Nuovo in Milan.

The singer would come to international prominence in 1957, aged 23, after performing at the Edinburgh Festival with The Sleepwalker and La Scala Theater. The show was so successful that an unscheduled fifth date was added to the festival. Renata, on the other hand, refused to perform in the extra session.

While still part of La Scala, the artist participated in the company’s historic visit to the Bolshoi Theater in Flyduring Cold War, as per website. She would perform at WE for the first time in 1960 and, in 1965, he made his debut with the Metropolitan Opera, with whom he will work 314 times, in lady butterfly.

Renata has sung on the world’s most prestigious stages, such as La Scala, in Milan, and the Royal Opera House, in London, according to the ANSA news agency. Opera Wire recalled that the artist also held academic positions at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in Pomegranateand at the Juilliard School of New York.

The artist was married to Lorenzo Anselmidied in 2021. Leaves two children: Laura and Filippo.
