Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani Reveals Moment Kamala Khan Loves Most From Comics and Involves Wolverine

I’m not sure Marvel Studios could have found a more perfect actress for the role of Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan. In addition to being a talented actress, the newcomer is also a huge Marvel fan, who has a deep understanding of comics. Of course, she has a particular weakness for the character she embodies and whom she almost knows everything you need to know about Ms. Marvel . As such, she has a number of favorite moments involving the teenage heroine, but the one that surpasses them all is about Wolverine.

Some of the most fascinating moments in Kamala Khan’s publishing history have been his collaborations with other Marvel heroes. This is due to the fact that Khan is a huge fan of superheroes and usually becomes a fan whenever he meets one of his idols of him. This was the case when young enthusiasts crossed paths with X-Man veteran Wolverine in his native New Jersey during the sixth issue of Khan’s first comic series.

There is certainly a lot of humor in the interaction, like the teen’s delight at the adamantine-clawed hero who nearly killed her when he surprised her. But when I spoke to Iman Vellani on Ms. Marvel’s journey and asked her which Kamala moment resonates with her the most, she provided a deeper perspective on superhero dating. :

This is tough. Good. There is a lot. Good. My favorite, I mean, the very moment of him with Wolverine, when they were fighting together against the crocodiles in the Jersey City sewers. It was like the second volume. [of the comic run]… and Wolverine loses his healing ability and Kamala grafted onto him. And it’s like asking her and why she has lost her healing ability. He said, ‘Listen, the only power worth having is getting up after falling.’ Everything else, all the flash powers and other kinky stuff, is just extra.

The seasoned mutant is definitely telling the truth, and his young mate has definitely taken the words to heart. The exchange also stayed with the actress as she and her cast and crew members filmed the series:

Yes [our show’s team] trading his powers for the MCU, he really hit close to home. And that phrase means a lot because it’s really not about powers or customs or anything like that. It’s about the character and humanity these characters carry, and just their moral code, why they fight and their motivations. And that’s what makes them heroes, and that’s what makes them recognizable. And I really love that moment, and it was really sweet. And just seeing Wolverine on Kamala’s back … yeah.

As trailers and TV commercials revealed, Kamala’s powers they are really different here, but that’s not exactly the most important thing. What is vital is the absolute sense of heroism and the character’s willingness to do the right thing. And those who have seen the first episode of the new MCU series know without a doubt that Iman Vellani embodies it perfectly through the interpretation of him. She is one of the main reasons why Mrs. Wonder has been the subject of heavy criticism reviews and, although it’s in its infancy, his choice may be one of the best decisions Marvel Studios has ever made.

Her character’s future in the MCU is bright (and I might as well see her join the Young Avengers ). But whenever Marvel decides to bring the mutants back into the fold, I wouldn’t mind if Iman Vellani’s Kamala could recreate that sweet comic book moment with Wolverine’s new actor.

However, be sure to stream first Mrs. Wonderfor those who are releasing new episodes Disney + subscribers Thursday as part of TV program 2022 .
