Kilotones releases unprecedented EP ‘Terra Brasilis’

If the scenario mainstream of pop is saturated with beats and generic messages, it is in the independent scene that the sonic creativity typical of Brazilian music has found the most interesting exponents. One of the affirmative examples is the trio kilotonswho released the new EP, Earth Brazillast Friday (25).

They have already presented their sound at festivals such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza AND John Rock, events that always look for the sound mix. The brothers bring as influences for the new release the pagodão Baiano, electronic music, reggaeton AND mangrove beat.

“The new album was influenced by the guitar of Pará, the ciranda and maracatu of Pernambuco, the axé of Bahia, the rock of Brasilia, the samba of Rio de Janeiro, the lament of São Paulo and the reggaeton of Puerto Rico” , explain John Barionovo which also states that cultural syncretism represents a piece of the struggle and hope of the Brazilian people.

Formed by the brothers of Ribeirão Preto, JP Barrionovo (guitarist), AJ Barrionovo (bassist and singer), e Pedro Barrionova (drummer and producer), the trio presents a sound that blends rhythmic blending with messages of hope in times of chaos.
