‘Estadão’ spoke to the festival’s backstage and dressing room coordinator, Ingrid Berger, to find out the details of the celebrity wish list
OR The City 2023 starts this Saturday 2 with unusual requests for artists’ dressing rooms. To the Estadaocity backstage and dressing room coordinator, Ingrid Bergerhe said tequila, beer pong table (a game where the person has to hit a ping pong ball into a glass of beer), underwear and a space children only with toys Lego are among the highlights of the request list.
Ingrid said the beer pong table was a request from the singer post-malone. However, he did not identify which other artists made the other requests., such as socks and underwear. In her 21st year as a festival manager, she says she’s already received all kinds of requests. In this edition, the most common are still increasing, such as the list of products for pharmacy and oral hygiene, headphones, speakers and chargers.

What is there and what are the changing rooms like?
According to Ingrid, the dressing rooms are standard with sofas, armchairs, table for food, mirror and hangers. She points out that it is common for artists’ assistants to bring their own items from the singer and the band to place at that moment.
On the list, the coordinator also said that one of the singers at the festival only asked for 2 liters of water and nothing else. He also points out that the number of vegan artists has increased in recent years. He also shopped in supermarkets himself. “There are a lot of people with allergies, about 40 vegetarians […] It has plenty of food, such as snacks and drinks too. But it’s not rock and roll anymore,” she said. “The most famous drink in show business is tequila,” she said.
Though she’s offered the artists breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Ingrid reports that she only received a two-page order for a variety of items (fruit baskets and holiday snacks, for example). “Many artists don’t accept [água em] PET bottle. We have to buy imported glass water bottles,” she revealed.
Vitamin C and wet wipes were also the other requirements present at the first The Town in São Paulo. Sustainability concern was another surprise among the requirements. “There are performers who have asked about identified recyclable trash cans in dressing rooms. I think that’s really cool,” she said.
As Ingrid reflected, there were no out-of-the-ordinary requests this year. She said that, throughout her career, she’s seen an artist ask for a sauna, a raft, an ice bath, and even a designer sneaker cake. “In all these years I’ve seen a million funny things.”
