On Saturday night, 3, Rinaldo Oliveira Amaral, known as Mingau, bassist of the band Ultraje a Rigor, was the target of an attempted robbery in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro. The musician was shot in the head during the attack and was found in serious condition. Mingau’s family expressed their gratitude for the qualified medical help and support of friends and fans during this difficult time. “The musician Mingau’s relatives and friends would like to thank everyone for their help with the skilled medical care that made a difference to his survival – both in Paraty, during the flight, and in São Paulo, helicopter release, trip to the capital of São Paulo, as well as friends and fans who help with messages of strength and affection,” the family members told the site news on tv.
Police investigations led to the arrest of a suspect, in possession of a firearm and a large quantity of drugs. The delegate in charge of the case reported that the seized weapon was compatible with the caliber of the bullets found at the site of the attempted robbery and identified three other people as possibly involved in the criminal action.
“It is compatible with the caliber of a bullet and with 3 cases that we found at the scene of the attempted murder of a member of the Ultraje a Rigor band. Plus 3 elements already identified and qualified,” he told Brasil Urgente.

In the latest medical bulletin released by the São Luiz do Itaim Hospital, of Rede D’Or, it was reported that the patient remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU), sedated and kept under mechanical ventilation.
