Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones also criticized rap. Come and see!
Cabbage! Keith Richardsthe famous Rolling Stones guitarist criticized pop music in a recent interview with The Telegraph [via Rolling Stone BR]. “I like listening to people playing instruments. That’s all, I don’t like listening to music from retail stores, as it’s known, the stuff you hear in elevators,” declared the musician.
I don’t want to start complaining about pop music… It’s always been rubbish. That’s the point. They do it as simply and cheaply as possible and so it always sounds the same, there’s little feeling in it.”
In addition to pop, Richards also criticized rap: “I really don’t like hearing people yell at me and say this is music, that’s rap. I can listen to enough of it without having to leave the house.”
While he said he didn’t want to seem like “a grumpy old man,” Keith also expressed his opinion on social media and the rise of “political correctness.”
“We’re all stuck in this [mostrando um celular], it doesn’t matter if it’s music or not… There are some things you can’t do anymore, because people are afraid. They are afraid of saying the wrong thing. They are afraid of disturbing someone. Fear can do amazing things to people.” He said.
