Furthermore, the singer-songwriter explained how they were a “punk group with melodies from the Beatles.”
Released on August 29, 1994 by Epic Recordsthe brothers’ album Gallagher has hits like “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” “Live Forever,” “Supersonic” It is “Slide Away.” During an interview with the magazine MOJO, Santa also compared the LP with Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols (1977), the only album by Sex Pistols.
“Definitely Maybe it was the last great punk album in many ways. We were a punk band with melodies from Beatles. We had no effects, almost no equipment, just a lot of attitude, 12 cans of Red Stripe and ambition,” said the musician.
Right away, Noel Gallagher talked about the only album by Sex Pistols: “If you hear this and Never Mind the Bollocks, they are very similar. That album was about the angst of being a teenager in 1977. Fast forward to 1994. Definitely Maybe It’s about the glory of being a teenager.”
It’s walking through the park with a distilled ghetto blaster. It’s no coincidence that it lasted so long. Maybe there have been technically better or bigger records since then, but this album is the real show stopper. There’s no bullshit in that. It’s an honest portrait of working-class boys trying to make it.
