The “Pra Você Remember” tour kicked off this weekend with two sold-out days in Sao Paulo (October 7 and 8).
Pe Lanza, Pe Lu, Koba and Thomas brought back songs that hadn’t been sung live for 8 years, but were always on the tip of fans’ tongues. With a very striking visual identity, the stage has impressive lighting, four screens and, of course, lots of colorful clothes, which continue to be one of the hallmarks of the band – and the fans – which, even over the years, continues without fading.
At the show on Sunday (08), at which we were present, the anxiety of thousands of fans was evident, as many had not managed to see them live even once before the break, because we ourselves heard from one person: ‘ All ‘I was a minor at the time’.
Wisely, they (re)started with “Recomeçar”, which already had the audience singing along to – probably – the band’s liveliest song. After the opening, there was one hit after another and we remember how much we listened to them on the radio. The setlist was what the audience wanted. They added even more nostalgia by bringing excerpts from “What I Got”, by the Californian band, Sublime and “Não Quero Dinheiro”, by the eternal Tim Maia. When they announced that someone would be coming on stage to sing a song with them, we could feel that mix of worry (whose name wouldn’t be named) and hope in the air – lucky for Jennifer who spent an unforgettable night together with the idols of she.
The Pes announce the end of the show and leave the stage, but one thing was missing. The audience began singing “Levo Comigo” a cappella until we could hear a more intimate piano-only version of what was – according to Pe Lu – Restart’s life-changing song.
Our impression is that if they had played until now no one would have left. They got lost. It was really nice to be part of this reconstruction and relive a recent history, but which seems so distant.
And the obvious question remains… was this tour just for us to remember or will there be more new beginnings out there?
