Singer participated in the compilation album SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits, released in 2009
Artists are not always proud of the work they have done, and P!nk recently revealed to Los Angeles Times which songs I never wish I had recorded – and one of them was part of the iconic cartoon Nickelodeon, Sponge Bob (1999).
Titled “We’ve Got Scurvy” (We have scurvy, in free translation), the song is part of the compilation album SpongeBob’s Greatest Hitsreleased in 2009. In the song, the singer talks about scurvy, a chronic disease caused by a lack of vitamin C in the diet, often associated with the history of sailors and sea voyages.
“Our gums are black, our teeth are falling out/ We’ve got spots on our backs, so give in and scream/ We’ve got scurvy, we need some vitamin C/ We’ve got scurvy, we need a lemon tree.”
Oh wait, I released this SpongeBob thing – We’ve Got Scurvy. I wish I never did that. That was a real mistake.”
“We’ve Got Scurvy” was introduced in episode 23 of the sixth season, called “Truth or Square”. To date, the Nickelodeon did not comment on the matter.
