The singer agreed to connect his image, voice and brand to the Strings platform
Singer Gusttavo Lima is processed by the application strings, which provides digital currencies tied to music artists. In the action, Strings asks the singer to pay R$30 million in an attempt to terminate the contract with him and receive back the amount invested in the partnership. The case is taking place at the Court of Justice of São Paulo.
The lawsuit was filed on September 18, but Strings continues to link the platform to the singer. The most recent publications on the app’s social profile include hashtags mentioning Gusttavo Lima, as well as comments from the singer’s fan clubs.
In a note to Earth, String clarified that he does not accuse Gusttavo Lima of a “coup” or that the company was “deceived.” The action with a high monetary value would be due to “contractual and legal problems”.
The platform preferred not to disclose the entire content of the trial to the press, which is not available to everyone on the TJ website. However, other portals stated that the company accuses the compatriot of breach of contract, that he would not respect the agreement to engage, promote and advertise the digital currency business for fans.
The singer’s publicist said he had not yet received formal notification of the trial and had learned of the case through the press. “It is also clarified that this act on the part of Strings to bring to the attention of the media the presentation of an action along the lines of what has been outlined, translates solely into an act of bad faith and an attempt to denigrate the image of artist. Any unreasonable consequences will ultimately be subject to damages,” he says, pointing out that the trial had been leaked by the platform.
