The Weeknd’s look-alike causes commotion in waiting line for show in SP

Marcos Kennedy, who has already caught the attention of The Weeknd himself, was welcomed by the singer’s fans in line for the Canadian’s show in São Paulo this Tuesday (10)

In videos on social media, the “cover” appears reaching the Allianz Parquewhere Abel Tesfaye performs this Tuesday and Wednesday (10th and 11th), and was welcomed by fans who were waiting for the gates to open at 4pm.

On his social networks, Kennedy also reposted photos and videos with several fans of the Canadian singer.

Kennedy is a known lookalike of Abel, who even commented on the similarity with the Brazilian “cover”. After a performance on Eliana’s program, shown on SBT last September, the Brazilian caught the attention of his own idol, who posted a video commenting on the situation. See below:

The Weeknd in São Paulo

The Canadian singer performs this Tuesday, 10th, and Wednesday (11th) with sold out tickets, at Allianz Parquein Sao Paulo.

The performances are part of the tour After Hours Til Dawnwhich mainly brings together tracks from the albums After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022) — but the singer’s recent shows have a repertoire that goes far beyond the two albums.

The presentations take place days after the show. Abel Tesfaye at the Rio de Janeiro, last Saturday (7), when a storm did not prevent the singer from performing in full, with a total of 42 tracks. At the time, the DJ Kaytranadawho also opens for The Weeknd’s shows in São Paulo, even canceled his participation due to safety reasons.

According to the website setlist.fmthe most recent presentations of Abel Tesfaye have listed 34 songs in their repertoire – with the exception of Brazil, where he increased the setlist to 42 tracks. Of these, seven are dedicated to the album Starboy, from 2016, one of the biggest hits of the Canadian’s career. Six tracks come from each of the two albums listed above. Beauty Behind Madness (2015) and House of Balloons (2011) still appear in the show, with five and three songs respectively, and Kiss Land (2013) and My Dear Melancholy (2018) too, with two songs each.

Abel has also played several covers in his performances, such as “Hurricane”, by Kanye West“Crew Love” by Drakeand “Low Life”, by Future.

In Brazil, Abel opened the show with a cover of “LA FAMA”, by Rosalía, followed by “False Alarm” and “Party Monster”. Then he set up the heavy follow-up to “Take My Breath,” “Sacrifice,” “How Do I Make You Love Me?” and the smashing “Can’t Feel My Face”. “Starboy”, one of abel’s biggest hits, appears in the first half of the show, as the 11th song of the presentation.
