WD releases autobiographical song ‘Carta Aberta’

Open letter it is a song written by WD four years ago and preserved to this day, a moment in which the artist feels more prepared and with a better emotional structure to talk about the non-existence of his relationship with his parents. The song is a cry for liberation from an experience that brought pain and that, today, the artist is able to refute this feeling and, through his own experience, help other people to better deal with similar feelings.

“This is a song that conveys intense and strong emotions for me, just like ‘I Am’. I hope that people, like me, can relate to the song and feel the comfort and relief I felt when I wrote it. And during the songwriting process, realizing that the song needed an ending, I contacted the biological parents so I could finish it.”account WD.

The text recounts the pain of a son who was abandoned by his parents as soon as he was born and saved from life 7 months of life for his grandmother. Furthermore, a 14 years he suffered again from his father’s rejection of him because he was a LGBTQIAPN+. A story that repeats itself and is part of the reality of many other children and young people who, instead of receiving love and care, are treated with hatred and often expelled from their homes.

The clip, scripted by Pedro Goto AND WD, presents the artist in an empty white environment, symbolizing solitude. When confronted by the mannequins, who represent her parents, he wonders if he misses their presence: “I positioned two mannequins to question and symbolize a feeling of loneliness. The straitjacket represents the imprisonment and insecurity that the family, idealized by the system, often causes. It’s crazy to face all these problems”, ends WD.

This track consists of WD has its own production signed by We4 Musicfrom the award-winning manufacturer DouglasModa which has also produced major hits for artists such as Luisa Sonza AND IZA.
