Organized by independent artists seeking to expand the reach of electronic music in communities and with the aim of uniting their audiences with new sounds, Baile Room has distinguished itself in promoting and encouraging an event culture in Belo Horizonte.
Baile Room is a party created and organized since 2018 by four DJs who, at the time, felt a little out of place in the electronic music scene of Minas Gerais. DJ Kingdom, VHOOR, DANV and Kramer started with the aim of opening space for new artists with a different personality and musical identity than what was already common in the city scene of Belo Horizonte.
Subverting the name Boiler Room, created in 2010 as a celebration of the underground and artistic expression in dance, Baile Room introduced to Minas Gerais the idea of uniting the meaning of the connection between bodies and experiences. The format, which involves several DJs presenting their sets with the sole aim of making people dance, has highlighted the importance of unity and respect within the local scene.
Since 2018, the party has gained prominence in peripheral culture by becoming the first party to combine baile funk influences with rap and hip-hop. His aesthetic, influenced by chill dance and future rhythm, harmonizes these two musical universes, establishing an inclusive and enriching dialogue for peripheral culture. A reference in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Baile Room have started appearing in different festival line-ups and recently played at the Minas Gerais edition of Ludmilla’s Numanice festival.
This Saturday, the 14th, at Autêntica, the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Baile Room will take place with an iconic line-up. DJ Kingdom, VHOOR, DANV and Kramer invite the coolest duo from Minas Gerais: Ogoin & Linguini; Baixada Fluminense icon: Jacquelone; Bebela Dias and Roxie for an exclusive back to back at Baile; resident of Soulection, an international attraction representing the Maluku Islands: Jael; and to close, Maffalda is one of the most sought after music producers in Brazil, who has signed songs with Lady Gaga, Anitta, Ludmilla, Urias, Luisa Sonza, among other artists.
