Original Kiss lineup reunion ‘makes no sense’, says Paul Stanley

Kiss singer admitted that the return of Ace Frehley and Peter Criss for the farewell tour is not in the plans

Many fans of Kiss wish they could watch the original lineup on stage one last time, but don’t expect to see Ace Frehley It is Peter Criss reunited with the band. With few shows left on the farewell tour End of the Road, Paul Stanley admitted that a reunion is not in the plans (via Ultimate Classic Rock).

This tour is a celebration of the band and the band’s life over the past 50 years. It is not a celebration of the original lineup. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for them, and we wouldn’t be here today with them.”

While some fans may be disappointed by the absence of Frehley It is Criss on the farewell tour of Kiss, it certainly doesn’t come as a shock. At the beginning of this year, Stanley told Howard Stern that he refused to play alongside his former bandmates at the band’s 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

In the same way, Frehley It is Criss refused to give new interviews for the documentary KISStory (2021), when Stanleyy said the duo’s demands for compensation and creative control were unreasonable.

“It doesn’t make sense to allow someone to come in and call the shots,” Stanley explains to the website. “We are in great shape. The band is fantastic. I don’t want to ruin the celebration [da turnê de despedida] … I don’t want to ruin the situation. It’s been really good.”

Kiss’ last show

O Kiss will end the tour End of the Road with two shows on December 1st and 2nd at Madison Square Garden in New York – and Stanley confesses that he has “very mixed” emotions when thinking about the final concert.

“Playing the Garden will be exciting and full circle, but it’s also the end of the band as it exists, and that’s something different in many ways. The fact that we have made it this far is extraordinary. We are the exception to the rule when it comes to being a rock band. ”
