K-pop group BTS vowed to return after indefinite hiatus
BTS will take an indefinite hiatus. K-pop phenomenon, the group has achieved several impressive marks, delivered hits like “Butter” and breathtaking performances in Grammy and other awards.
Members announced their decision at a dinner at the PARTY – annual event to celebrate the founding of the group (via NME). As they celebrated nine years of existence, they told fans about their intentions to pursue solo projects as a priority.
RM recalled the achievements of BTSbut highlighted how everyone still has a lot to achieve with individual songs: “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with k-pop and the idols is that there is no time to mature. You need to keep producing music.”
“We can’t help but think about our fans. No matter what, we want to be the kind of artist that fans remember. Now, we’re thinking about what kind of artist each of us wants to be remembered by fans,” jimin added.
One of the examples in the focus on the solo career is the recent casting of J-Hope as headliner of Lollapalooza Chicagowhich takes place in July 2022. He was chosen as a replacement for doja catwhich had to cancel for health reasons.
“I think that’s why we’re on a hard path right now. We’re trying to find our identity, and it’s a long and exhausting process,” jimin completed.
