Kiko Prata & Os Reluzentes release their first EP

With the artistic direction of Rick Bonadio, the album now arrives on streaming platforms, via the Midas Music record label

Kiko Prata and Os Reluzentes release their self-titled debut EP this Thursday (26th), via Midas Music. The work features four tracks, which could very well serve as a soundtrack for audiences looking for new things in the softer and more melodic side of rock. With a clear ambition to become one of the genre’s biggest attractions, Kiko Prata (vocals), Afonso Gaviraghi (guitar and acoustic guitar), Igor “Foguete” Gama (guitar), Rogério Henrique (drums) and Igor Monteiro (bass) create music tailor-made to capture hearts and shine on the big stages.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Estúdio Midas (São Paulo), “Kiko Prata & Os Reluzentes” was produced by Rick Bonadio (who is also the artistic director) and Fernando Prado. The duo used their vast experience to capture the best of what each musician had to offer in the studio environment. As a result, the songs recorded on the EP pulsate and breathe in the same way they would in a live performance. But it is the performance of the charismatic Kiko Prata that deserves the most attention. His powerful and moving voice manages to create an immediate connection with the listener, a rare quality that can only be observed in great artists.

Another point that attracts attention is that, although the music of the Rio Grande do Sul group sounds authentic and current, there is some element present in the formula that produces a nostalgic effect, making the sound much more interesting. This can be explained through the influences of the frontman and co-author of all the tracks. Kiko himself comments: “I’ve always really liked 90s and early 2000s rock and Pearl Jam is perhaps my favorite band of all time. These references are reflected in my compositions and the way I sing.”

“Recording these guys was sensational. We did a really fantastic job together looking for references that are part of the band’s history, but without losing their authenticity” – comments Rick Bonadio.

Fernando Prado adds: “Working with a band with great growth potential is a unique experience. When great musicians come together in a studio, creative energy flows without limits. The thrill of contributing to the construction of a new project is truly stimulating.”

The EP opens with the power ballad “Não Existe Amor” (Kiko Prata/ Jéf/ Marco Suhai). Released as the project’s first single, the song immediately fell in love with pop rock fans, finished at the top of the segment’s radio charts and put Kiko Prata & Os Reluzentes on the map. Next up is the captivating “Mission Impossible” (Kiko Prata/ Jéf). With an almost danceable rhythm, which stands out from the rest of the repertoire, the song is about someone trying to forget a lost love. “Cedo Demais” (Kiko Prata/ Bola) was also previously released as a single and features a well-designed violin arrangement, which gives a grand touch to this beautiful, soulful composition. And to close, “ Quando Eu Te Olhar Assim ” (Kiko Prata/ Rafael Sonic/ Jéf/ Marcelo Gama) with its striking melody, which refers to the post-grunge era, and easy-to-sing chorus, leaves you with the desire to know more eventually.
