Lio, Lay and Machado launched the EP Tuyo Acústico after the success of shows in the same format in 2023
When the band Tuyo started releasing music around 2016 and 2017, Lio, Lay It is Ax They didn’t have the resources they currently have: they had guitar, voice and a lot of talent. Now, in 2023, the trio revisits, in a way, the past in an exciting way with the EP Tuyo Acústicoreleased last Thursday, 26th, on streaming platforms.
The album features three songs already known by fans, “Fog,” “Quiet” It is “Bundle of clothes,” but also brings two new ones: “Everything comes back” (which received a video this Friday, 27th) and “I see the future.” A factor responsible for the EP was the acoustic show that the group puts on in 2023; it toured cities such as Campinas, João Pessoa, Sorocaba, São Paulo (with three sold-out shows at Sesc Consolação) It is Belo Horizonte.

As Lio said in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil, these shows made it impossible for the band not to return to the guitar, “for the pure pleasure of composing, of singing.” According to the singer, this inspiration visited everyday life, and so they wanted to materialize “an idea, the most delicious process to pore over.”
In fact, the success of the acoustic shows signaled to the band that this tour has room to live longer and go further: “It has been an enormous happiness for us to understand that there is still room for composition in the earlier, more vulnerable state and, in our vision, super powerful.”
So, why release three songs already produced and released by the trio on the internet in an “official” way? It is worth remembering how “Fog,” “Quiet” It is “Bundle of clothes” were not present on streaming platforms before the Acoustic. “In the acoustic show, we recovered emblematic songs, largely due to the lyrics, the way in which we organized our ideas, without the intention of revamping anything,” he explained. Lio.
The idea was to tell the stories of our lives, visiting various poetic moments in our work, specifically for this show. But hearing packed audiences singing at the top of their lungs songs that we didn’t even know how they found on the internet had a huge impact on us. We then chose the songs to provide people with a more practical way of listening – and being able to live with them – compositions that have crossed time.
Past, present and future of Tuyo
Just like on the EP and acoustic shows, Tuyo always shows pride when talking about the band’s past and beginnings. Specifically, artists look back on their biggest wins and songs. Second Liothey go on stage believing it was just the three of them with a guitar – and when the performance ends they realize there is even more.
“In addition to the old companions, the good songs that have stood the test of time and trends, we have people who are also for music, for the sublime, for intimacy,” he stated. “The most important part is keeping alive in everyday life what is central, essential, music.”

Expansion of Tuyo Acústico
Not just the album on digital platforms, Tuyo also prepares a live session at the TikTok (on October 30, 2023) and another on YouTube (November 3). In addition to seeing the EP’s acoustic songs live online, fans can also expect the band to share motivations and interesting facts about the process of making this work.
Singing on the internet is interesting for us because a significant part of our audience got to know us that way, singing on the computer. It’s always a beautiful meeting.
The acoustic format is nothing new in music, but it always proves to be a real success, whether on stage or in the studios. In July 2023, Tico Santa Cruz spoke with Rolling Stone Brazil to talk about Acoustic 20 Years – Love Has No Enemies, Vol. 1 (Live)of the Detonauts. According to the artist, this format “is the original form of music, because all the songs I wrote started on the guitar” – and Lio found this parallel interesting.
“When we observe Ellen Oléria and the way in which her musicality is connected to her relationship with the guitar, it is easy to understand the importance of this relationship, the type of feeling that a composition can provoke in its original state,” he said.
Right away, Lio spoke about the undeniable fierce movement of the music market in acoustic projects, as there were “incredible projects by canonical artists that came to life when [foram] revisited on the guitar.”
It is one of the most intimate Brazilian instruments, another sign of the bond we have with music as a people. The guitar crosses trends, remains, is the last test of the composition.
With two new songs on Tuyo Acústicothe band brings a curiosity to the third studio album, successor to We arrived home alone (2021). Second Liothe album has been worked on for just over a year and is in the process of recording and arranging decisions, but the singer remained mysterious when giving more details about the project, which has yet to be named.
Furthermore, the group has also started to organize “our writings and our references to build what should be the third studio album,” which already has tracks, names, images and partners: “It’s designed to visit people’s homes, From the oldest fans to those who have arrived because of these exchanges, contemplating the past and the recent has been our science, our method.”
Living through the making of an album and being able to share your processes is certainly one of the most fun parts of making a living from music. We hope to continue like this until the end of days…
