Presented on the same day October 20th, Behind the tea chroniclessinger-songwriter Ed Motta’s fourteenth studio album, topped the 551 thousand streams in its first weekend of release on the streaming platform in Spotifywhere it is available at Universal Music, via Virgo Music.

Behind the tea chronicles invites the listener to push musical boundaries with his songs full of full of feeling AND Fantasticas well as almost cinematic atmospheres.

“‘Colombo’, ‘Barnaby Jones’ and ‘Streets of San Francisco’ (in Brazil, ‘São Francisco Urgente’) are my favorite series”reveals Ed Motta. “But I also like the English ‘Quatermass’, the world’s first science fiction series produced by the BBC, which was the direct inspiration for a song on the album,” says Motta. “I was also inspired by old films: especially ‘Gaslight’ by George Cukor and the films of Jacques Tati, Jean-Pierre Melville and Basil Dearden, who are some of my favorite directors and gave me many ideas.”

The work features an impressive line-up of distinguished musicians, including notable collaborations with Brazilian and international artists.
