Planta e Raiz, renowned as one of Brazil’s largest reggae groups, has just completed 25 year career and is preparing to perform one of the most important presentations in its history: Live plant and root in Noronha, which will be held on the same day November 3. The project involves recording an unprecedented show by the band, at Fort Noronhawith the special participation of MC Harielpromoting a surprising combination between reggae AND funk. The repertoire of 20 songs will be made up of 10 successes by Planta and others 10 new songs.
The materialization of this project is a milestone for all band members: “We chose Fernando de Noronha because it is simply the most beautiful place on the planet. It’s a dream to record our songs there, with all the energy of this place”comments the singer Zeider.
As one of the ways to give back to the island, the musicians will promote some social actions. Among these, the opening of a music room within the local schoolIn addition to donation of instruments.
The fact that they completed 25 years old uninterrupted trajectory, in a way, is still surreal for the members: “The feeling is that we closed our eyes. It just flew by. We worked a lot, did a lot, that time passed very quickly. But the beautiful thing is that we still have energy, creativity and the desire to do much more,” comment Zeider.
Information about the unusual collaboration with MC Harielone of the most popular artists in Brazil – with 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 1.5 million followers on YouTube – Zeider describes the meeting as a great pleasure: “Having him with us is the greatest honor. He is a great idol of this generation, a boy prodigy, with a huge heart. And the beautiful thing is that reggae has had an influence on his life, which makes us even happier .”
