Selena Gomez announces retirement from social media: “It disgusts me”

Selena Gomez announced on Monday (10/30) her farewell to social media for the second time this year. The singer has decided to stay away from the Internet due to the “violence and terror” plaguing the world, such as the war between Israel and the extremist group Hamas.

“I have stayed away from social media because it breaks my heart to see all the horror, hatred, violence and terror that is happening in the world. People tortured, killed or the target of any act of hatred against any group they are horrible. We must protect all people, especially children, and end the violence once and for all,” Selena wrote on Instagram Stories.

“I apologize if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by and watch innocent people get hurt. This is what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world, but one post can’t It will be enough”, concluded the artist.
