With over 50 years of career, the legendary band Queen is a worldwide phenomenon that spans generations. Led by Freddie Mercury, an iconic figure on and off the stage, who left us exactly 30 years ago, the British rock group recounted their musical trajectory at the Queen Celebration in Concert touring Brazil. And this show arrives at the Espaço Unimed on Saturday 9 July.
A show worthy of the great musicals of the world, capable of awakening the strongest emotions and feelings from a unique and particular musicality. Electrifying performances, flawless costumes and the mix of rock and scholar bring sighs and, of course, tears. On stage, talented singer André Abreu brings the immortal Freddie Mercury to life in a historic rescue of what is one of the greatest British bands of all time.
Notable, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and record producer makes an impact, not only by his Mercury-like physical appearance, but by his quality, intonation and vocal range. In an interpretation worthy of all applause, he reconstitutes scenes of the audience’s emotional imagination in a tribute to the height of Freddie Mercury, the idol of André Abreu even before he understood the dimension and scope that the international star has in world music. “It is a job that requires a lot of energy and dedication. More than a tribute, it is a tribute from a fan to an idol and from a fan to the fans. The way we found to continue Queen’s timeless and brilliant work, ”completes Abreu, who was only 3 years old when Freddie died.
Formed in 1970 by Brian May (guitar and vocals), Freddie Mercury (vocals and piano), John Deacon (bass) and Roger Taylor (drums and vocals), Queen, with an unrivaled style, marked an era and became eternal with songs that are true anthems for all generations. In Queen Celebration in Concert, audiences are invited to relive the band’s unforgettable moments, as the one-and-a-half hour show brings back extraordinary pieces from memorable tours and performances, including Queen Live at Wembley Stadium, from 1986.
The sets by Esteban Grossy and the meticulous costumes, rich in details, designed by André Abreu himself, perfectly reproduce the atmosphere of songs that have reached the charts, such as “Love of my Life”, “We Are The Champions”, “We Will Rock You “,” Radio Gaga “,” Crazy Little Thing Called Love “,” Don’t Stop Me Now “,” Somebody to Love “and” Another One Bites the Dust “, and recorded Queen record sales in all the world.
Experienced guitarist Danilo Toledo competently plays Brian May’s solos. The Queen Celebration in Concert team is completed by bassist PH Mazzilli and drummer Guib Silva, who together bring the infectious energy to the stage just like when the British quartet performed.
The band is accompanied by an orchestra of 14 musicians under the direction of expert Andrei Presser, who also worked on the musical We Will Rock You. Get ready for a journey back in time. Dreaming boldly and experiencing freedom is possible
