The big change of ‘Law and order: Special Victims Unit’ in its new season

This time behind the scenes.

The Serie ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ currently broadcasting Amazon Prime Video has announced an important change for season 24: will have a new director.

David Grazianobest known for being the co-creator of the CBS series ‘Coyote’, will replace Warren Leightwho has been at the helm of the long-running series for eight years.

He is not the only new director in the ‘Law & Order’ universe, as Bryan Goluboff will take the reins on ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’.

In an Instagram photo announcing the news, Graziano simply captioned the photo: “I’m just going to leave this here” with a smiling face.

leighwho participated between seasons 13 and 17, as well as those between 21 and 23, announced his departure in early May in a long Twitter thread.

Wrote: “The last day of shooting is always bittersweet. Today was a little more than that. As some have already realized, I’m retiring at the end of #SVU23. The last two years of filming the series during the pandemic have been tough, and I’ve decided to take a break.”

Leight also referred to the challenge of shooting during COVID (plus what the COVID protocol costs on a shoot): “This year, at least once a week, a brick would come through the window. This person was quarantined, that location was lost, another show was delayed, and our guest star was no longer available…”

“Each time it happened, the casting, the cameraman, the design person, the costume person, the locations person, the props person or the directors came up with a solution. And when they didn’t, our editing room did, directed by the indefatigable genius Arthur Forney. Somehow, obstacles brought us all together. The episodes stayed on track and seemed to get stronger the longer the season went on.”
