Police search for “Jackass” star after escaping from the clinic

The Florida State Police Department is looking for Bam Margera, star of the “Jackass” franchise, after he escaped from a rehabilitation facility where he was hospitalized by court order.

According to a Delray Beach police report, the rehab clinic manager said the skater and star of self-inflicted pranks escaped on Monday (6/13). Since then he has remained a fugitive.

Margera left her seat in a black sedan, after saying she was dissatisfied with the treatment and would seek out another clinic. One of the reasons for his request concerns an accident he suffered in May of this year. He broke his wrist and elbow when he fell off his skateboard and blamed the institute for not making physical therapy appointments.

He could not leave the place without authorization, as the hospitalization was not voluntary.

The “Jackass” was brought to the Delray Beach facility in September under police escort after authorities were called to deal with an “emotionally afflicted person”. A Florida law provides emergency care and temporary detention for people in need of substance abuse assessment and treatment in the state.

It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time that Margera has escaped from a rehabilitation clinic. In 2019 he escaped, ran into trouble in a hotel and was arrested in Los Angeles.

This was her second hospitalization in 2019, brought to the clinic after an outbreak at a comedy club. A year before him he had destroyed his own home and threatened his wife, who was also forcibly admitted to a psychiatric institution.

The first hospitalization of his “career”, by the way, turns 13 – and he retired after just four days. At least half a dozen have arrived since then.

The skater left “Jackass” in 2020 and even sued Johnny Knoxville and the producers responsible for the fourth film, “Jackass Forever”, for his dismissal.

His participation was conditioned by a clause that required him to undergo numerous drug tests. Margera says he was “forced” to sign the contract, accepting that relapses and other problems resulting from the addiction could lead to his departure from production. And that’s what happened.

Although he has “disappeared”, he is not far from social networks. In the last few days he has updated his Instagram with some pictures.
