Pavement, the iconic American indie rock band, are the first attraction confirmed for the C6 Fest 2024, an event that will take place on May 18th and 19th at Parque Ibirapuera, in Sao Paulo.
After a 12-year hiatus, the band returns to Brazil, where they were present at the now defunct Planeta Terra festival in 2010. And they return with the classic lineup, consisting of Stephen Malkmus, Scott Kannberg, Mark Ibold, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West, with the same alternative rock that marked the 90s.
Known for their influence on the music scene with songs like “Cut Your Hair”, “Spit on a Stranger” and “Stereo”, the Californians inspired bands like Blur, Radiohead and Weezer with their mix of dissonant sounds, which defied the commercial standards of music.era. After breaking up in 1999, the band had a brief reunion in 2010 and now, with their return in 2022, performances are expected to revisit their influential repertoire.
What to expect from C6 Fest 2024
C6 Fest, sponsored by C6 Bank and organized by Dueto Produções, seeks to create a diversified experience for the public, following the success of the previous edition which saw the participation of artists as diverse as Kraftwerk, Underworld, Samara Joy and Jon Batiste . The second edition will have to maintain the standard. Therefore, the announcement of a band that has become eternal in the history of alternative rock can be accompanied by artists with different profiles.
