Teresa Cristina and Grupo Semente live in the hearts of an entire generation that immersed itself in the world of samba in the late nineties. Responsible for memorable evenings in the group’s namesake bar, and in many other venues, the singer and the band are celebrating twenty-five years of history and stories! This party begins and ends with samba on Saturday 11 November at Circo Voador, literally in the heart of Lapa. Gates open at 9pm.
It all began in 1998, when those who frequented the Bar Semente na Lapa, or at least stopped in front of one of its windows, began to be enchanted by the way in which Teresa Cristina gave voice to various sambas, from the classics to the compositions that emerged at the time . Accompanied by Grupo Semente, she joined the Rio samba circuit in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2002, Teresa Cristina and Grupo Semente recorded their first album, the excellent tribute “A Música de Paulinho da Viola”. The following album, from 2004, entitled “A Vida me Fez Assim”, was fundamental for the group and for the musical direction of their works. Since then, other recordings and rescues will follow the group’s trajectory.
And it is a journey through the entire career that the audience will find at Circo Voador with the performance of Teresa Cristina and Grupo Semente, a night to celebrate all the richness of the meeting of this unique singer with these formidable musicians.
