Released on November 2, 2023, ‘Now and Then’ had the help of Artificial Intelligence to extract John Lennon’s voice from an old demo
One of the greatest rock bands in history, Beatles launched “Now and Then,” considered the last song by the band formed by Ringo Starr (battery), Paul McCartney (vocals and bass), John Lennon (vocals, guitar) and George Harrison (guitar), on November 2, 2023 and was quite successful. Now, the drummer has celebrated this recent success.
It is worth remembering how the track had the help of Artificial intelligence (AI) to be able to extract the vocals from Lennon, died on December 8, 1980, on an old demo tape. Upon release, “Now and Then” topped the UK charts and was the 18th single from Fab Four reaching the top of music trends – the last one was “The Ballad Of John And Yoko” (1969).
In a publication made in Xbetter known as Twitter, Starr took the opportunity to talk about the performance of the song. “What is happening, is happening first of all in England, UK, amazing, some more facts will appear on the screen,” she wrote. “Peace and love to everyone. It’s a beautiful day.”
The “facts will appear on the screen” came in a video that the drummer placed with the text. The excerpt showed a slideshow of photos with some more impressive statistics: “Beatlemania IT’S BACK.” According to the artist’s publication, “Now And Then” is the fastest-selling single of 2023 and the fastest-selling vinyl single of the century.
Finally, Ringo Starr also stated how the song had the highest physical sales in a week in almost a decade, with the most plays on streaming platforms in a week of any song from the Beatles of all time.
