The live album Estácio Vivoregistered by the deceased Luiz Melody during a special presentation at Rival theatreto the Rio de Janeiroin 1998, was made available by Sony Music last Friday (17) as a way to celebrate the month of Black Consciousness in Brazil.
Estácio Vivo it was recorded when the singer was alone 66 years oldbut his work, revisited in this album, shows his talent as a performer and composer blues, samba, rock, soul and jazz and survives indelible time.
The repertoire is a great opportunity to retrace the entire path of this talented musician, the creation of Morro de São Carlosto the Estacio. Melodia was discovered when she was a newborn 20 years by the poets Torquato Neto AND Waly Solomon. The latter, also a producer, who in turn presented his song Black Pearl THE Gal Costawho had the privilege of launching him as a composer in the anthological exhibition Full steam girlbetter known as Fatalin 1971, in Thereza Rachel TheaterRio’s temple of counterculture.
The singer’s double album with the entire show consecrated the beautiful blues of the young man who two years later would title his first solo album, and obviously could not be excluded from this show Estácio Vivo.
His first solo work is also remembered in this album Human rag AND Skinnyas well as two instant classics of his own creation.
